People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences. Carroll O'Connor starred as Archie Bunker. Maybe you were also aware that he lost a son to the disease of addiction?  Because of this tragedy, Mr. O’Connor was one of the first celebrities to talk openly about the illness.
